Let’s see what each of these parts means:
1- Profile
When you tap on the avatar to the top left, it opens a flyout menu. Here you can find options like KYC, Wallet, Settings, Game Performance, and other helpful resources. You can also set your profile name; this is the name that shows up with your avatar on game tables when you play. From this menu, you can also learn about RummyCulture’s responsible gaming measures and seek customer support should you encounter an issue.
2- Add Cash button
Tap this button to add money to your RummyCulture wallet to play cash games. The minimum amount that can be added to your wallet at once is ₹50, and the maximum is ₹50,000. Please note that you don’t need to add any money to play practice games, which we will discuss in detail in the upcoming sections.
3- Game variants
This is the list of all the available game variants on RummyCulture. You can see the Points, Pool, and Deals formats and a section for practice games. Depending on the size of your phone screen, you may have to scroll to see all the options. This provides a quick and easy way for you to choose the kind of game you wish to play. You can check out our rummy variations page to learn more about the individual formats.

Playing games: what do I start with?
There are both Practice and Cash games available on the RummyCulture app. You should choose what you want to play based on your level of expertise.
Practice games
If you’re new to rummy entirely, we would suggest you start with practice games. Practice games are a great way to understand the rules of different rummy variants before you get into real money games. Each player is given 5 lakh chips that can be used to access practice games. 5 lakh chips are a LOT, so you get virtually unlimited free games to play!
How to access practice games:
- On the Home screen where the game variants are, scroll to the right.
- Tap on the “Practice” tile.
- On the top of this screen, you will see a toggle option. You can choose between 2 or 6-player options.
- Then, select the rummy variant you wish to play.
Cash games
If you’re a seasoned player who wants to play for big winnings, then cash games are for you. You can play cash games in all rummy variants, with the Buy-In (entry fee) for tables starting from ₹1 and going all the way up to ₹40,000!
The essential requirement for playing cash games is adding cash to your RummyCulture wallet to pay the Buy-In, for a game. You can Add Cash to your wallet using 2 ways:
Using the Add Cash button on the home screen
As discussed before, in the top right corner of the Home screen you will see an Add Cash button. The minimum amount that can be added to your wallet at once is ₹50, and the maximum is ₹50,000. You will see default options for amounts on the left, and an option to enter a custom amount on the top.
Select a default amount or enter the amount of your choice, and proceed with the preferred payment method (UPI, debit/credit card, bank transfer, etc.)
💡When you do your 1st Add Cash, you get extra rewards so you play for more than what you pay. Extra rewards are obtained in the form of Discount Credits (more on this later).
For Add Cash amounts above ₹500, the user will be prompted to complete mandatory KYC in adherence to the regulations set down by the Govt. of India. KYC is done in order to confirm player identity and ensure the player on the app is genuine. This is a crucial step in providing everyone with a safe and secure gaming experience.
KYC verification is an easy, breezy experience on the RummyCulture app. You need to upload:
- Enter details of your PAN card and upload the image of its front side.
- Bank account details need to be entered. This is done to protect your money and will be used for transferring your winnings.
Using the wallet option
You can also Add Cash using the Wallet option in the profile menu.
-
- Tap on your avatar on the top left corner of the Home screen.
- In the flyout menu, tap on the ‘Wallet’ option.
- Here, you can see all your balances and transaction histories. On the right side, you will see an Add Cash button.
- Add in your amount, and proceed by selecting the preferred payment method.
Once you are done with adding cash to your RummyCulture account, you can start playing cash games.
How to access cash games:
- On the Home screen, you can see the game variants- Points, 101 Pool, Deals, 61 Pool, and 201 Pool.
- Select the rummy variant you wish to play.
- Should you wish to brush up on the rules of the particular variant, choose the ‘See Rules’ option on the top left, under the variant name.
- On the top of this screen, you will see a toggle option. You can choose between 2 or 6-player options.
- You can choose your desired table. You will see the Buy-In for each table mentioned upfront.
- The ones you are eligible for (based on your wallet balance) are marked in white.
Discount Credits
Discount Credits, or DC, are in-game rewards on RummyCulture. You can use Discount Credits to play cash games at up to a 100% discount.
- You can get Discount Credits as rewards when you Add Cash.
- You can get Discount Credits as rewards during other offers, such as daily spins (for eligible users).
- You can ONLY use Discount Credits to play cash games on the app.
- You CANNOT withdraw Discount Credits as winnings.
You can check your DC balance in your Wallet.
Apart from practice and cash games, there are also DC games available on the RummyCulture app. You can find them under each variant. In these games, you can enter with just 1 DC as well as win in DC.
Why is KYC verification important?
KYC (Know your customer) verification is a crucial part of giving each player a safe and secure gaming experience on RummyCulture. Identity and address verification are legally mandated for real money games. Let us understand how KYC works on RummyCulture:
Verifying a user’s identity
RummyCulture prides itself on being the nation’s trusted platform with over 3.2 crore players. Verification of identity is done via official government documents and in adherence with Govt. of India’s regulations set for real money games, which includes rummy. A user can verify their identity using the image of their PAN card.
Verifying a user’s state
While real money games are legal in India, there are certain states where state governments have regulations against skill-based cash games like rummy. It is therefore important for apps like RummyCulture to ensure that players from certain locations are not playing on the app to protect them from potential legal implications.
When downloading the app from the Google Play Store, players have to complete their verification in compliance with Play Store regulations. This verification can be done using:
- Aadhaar card
- Voter ID
- Driver’s Licence
Players are nudged to complete the mandatory Google Play Store verification when they start using the app. This is what the nudge would look like:
Once you click on ‘Continue to verify’, you will be led to the verification page where you can select a government-issued document from the dropdown menu (highlighted in the image) and verify your address. The default option would be Aadhaar.
The RummyCulture app also requires your location services to be on for the same reason. When you start playing, you will be prompted to give location access to the app. Tap on “Proceed to Allow”.
💡In the states of Assam, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, Nagaland, and Meghalaya, players are not allowed to play for cash. RummyCulture does not allow players from these states to play for real money. However, they can still play our practice games for free.
Verifying a user’s banking details
When it comes to real cash rummy games, RummyCulture follows many measures to keep players’ money safe. Verifying bank details is especially important for withdrawing winnings. You can withdraw a minimum amount of ₹100 and a maximum amount of up to ₹1 lakh at once. The money is transferred directly to your bank account. A player is asked for the following information:
- Account number that is under the name verified using PAN card
- IFSC code
💡In case of discrepancies between names on your government-issued ID card and your bank account, you can reach out to the RummyCulture customer service for help.
Users can verify their KYC details in 2 ways:
Using the KYC option
You can complete your KYC verification using the KYC option in the profile menu.
- Tap on your avatar on the top left corner of the Home screen.
- In the flyout menu, tap on the ‘KYC’ option. You will see a ‘Pending’ sign next to this option if you haven’t yet completed the KYC verification.
- You will see 2 options: one for PAN verification and one for verifying bank details.
For PAN verification:
- Tap on the ‘Upload Front Image of PAN’ option.
- You will see a prompt that shows you the ways in which you can upload a picture of your PAN card: Take a photo, Choose from gallery, or Choose from file.
- You can upload the photo of your PAN card in any of these formats: PDF/JPG/PNG. The file has to be less than 10MB.
- The verification takes only about 15 seconds!
Once it’s done, your screen will look like this:
For bank details:
- Tap on ‘Enter Your Bank Details’.
- You will see 3 sections. Fill in your account details.
- Tap on ‘Verify Bank Account’.
- Bank detail verification takes about 15 seconds.
Once you verify both your identity and your banking details, you will see this screen. Now, you’re all set to play cash games and withdraw your winnings!
From Add Cash page
When you Add Cash for more than ₹500 at once or cumulative over your time on the app, you will be prompted to complete your KYC verification. Tapping on the ‘Upload Documents’ option will lead you to the KYC verification page as mentioned above.
Rummy rules and general tips
In many parts of the country, rummy is an integral part of our festivals like Diwali. It is a fun and engaging game to play with your friends and family. Indian rummy is generally played between 2 to 6 players, but you can have more participants to make it more challenging (when playing in real life, of course).
All rummy variations across the world belong to the category of meld-forming card games, that is, you need to divide the cards in your hand into specific groups. Indian rummy is a fairly easy variation to play online once you:
- Understand basic rummy-related terms like sequence, sets, valid declaration, etc.
- Understand the rules of Indian rummy and the kind of card groupings you need to win the game.
- Understand how points are calculated in various rummy formats.
- Practice with free games on the RummyCulture app using the steps mentioned before.
We have explained all these things in detail in our other blogs. Do check them out!
Tips for a new player
1. Understand card values: The primary requirement to win a game of Indian rummy is to have the least amount of points in hand, which is 0. Now, how are points calculated? This is done using card values:
♦️Numbered cards: These have points equal to their face value.
♠️Face cards: King, Queen and Jack are all equal to 10 points each.
♥️Ace cards: An ace is equal to 10 points.
♣️Joker cards: Both printed and wild card Jokers are equal to 0 points.
2. Knowing when to drop out is essential: As cards are randomly distributed (see RummyCulture’s RNG certification), it is possible to get a hand you don’t feel confident about; for example, a hand with no pure sequences and/or Joker cards. Seasoned players know when to quit the round, or ‘drop’ as it is called in the world of Indian rummy. Dropping is a strategic move taken by the pros especially in longer formats in order to cut losses and stay in the game. Just like in real life, knowing when to pause is a great soft skill to have.
3. Joker is super useful: If you were to remember just one tip, remember this one. Never let go of a Joker card. There are two kinds of Joker cards; printed (the one that comes with the card deck), and wild card (one card selected at random when starting a game, so it will change with every game).
4. Practice, practice, practice: Rummy is a skill-based game, and skills can be developed and honed. The more you practice, the more you will start winning! RummyCulture offers virtually unlimited practice games for every player. If you’re well-versed in the rules of the game, we have a fun rummy skill test for you. You can always get a refresher with helpful videos and a ‘See Rules’ option for each format on the app.
5. You are playing other players, not just the game: A pro player knows they need to look at other players’ moves as much as their own, maybe even more so. They analyse and prepare for potential moves by studying the cards being discarded by the opponents, as well as withholding certain cards if they suspect might be of use to their opponents. The skill of long-term planning comes from practising different formats.
6. Play mindfully: Rummy is all about enjoyment, so always ensure that you play in moderation and with essential breaks in between. Playing any game, be it rummy or something else, for an extended period without pause is detrimental to one’s physical and mental well-being. At RummyCulture, we promote healthy gaming habits by encouraging our players to take a break from continuous gameplay. Rummy variants on RummyCulture: a brief guide
There are 3 major rummy variants on RummyCulture: Points, Pool, and Deals.
Even though the standard rules of rummy remain the same, each of these formats offers a different challenge and requires different strategic skills.
Points rummy
Points rummy is a popular format on RummyCulture as well as in the general rummy community. With only 1 deal in each game, Points is one of the faster variations of rummy online. Each point has a monetary value to it, which can be from ₹0.05 (5 paise) to ₹500. Your total Buy-In would be (80 × point value of the game). So, if 1 point = ₹0.05, your Buy-In would be 80 × ₹0.05= ₹4. The winner (the one who makes the first valid declaration) gets a cash reward worth all the remaining players’ points.

Pool rummy
Pool rummy in RummyCulture comes in 3 variations: 61 Pool, 101 Pool, and 201 Pool. Pool rummy is one of the longest rummy formats because there is no limit on the number of deals; players keep getting eliminated from the game when their score reaches 61 (in 61 Pool), 101 (in 101 Pool), or 201 (in 201 Pool). The winner takes the full prize, or, in a 6-player match, the last 2 or 3 remaining players get an option to split the prize. The split can, however, only happen if ALL the remaining players agree. Unlike Points and Deals formats, a player can rejoin if eliminated if certain conditions are met.

Deals rummy
In this format of rummy, the number of deals is predetermined. RummyCulture offers 3 variations of Deals rummy: 2 players-1 deal, 2 players-2 deals, and 6 players-3 deals. The 2 players-1 deal is the fastest variation. All players start with the same number of points, which is equal to [80 × (no. of deals)]. So, for a 2 players-2 deals format, both players will start with 80 × 2 = 160 points. At the end of each deal, the winner gets points for the ungrouped cards of the remaining players, and the player with the highest points at the end of all the deals is considered the winner.

How to get started with rummy tournaments
Rummy tournaments on RummyCulture are highly rewarding, multi-round formats that truly test a player’s patience and long-term planning skills. RummyCulture offers both free-to-enter and paid-entry tournaments.
For new players wanting to experiment with tournaments, it is advisable to start with our free weekend tournaments: Saturday Bumper Cash and the Sunday Mega Blockbuster. In weekend tournaments, all players win Discount Credits that they can use to play cash games and tournaments. For the more experienced players, we have daily PowerPlay tournaments where winners can walk away with prizes worth several lakhs!
💡Fun fact: RummyCulture’s Sunday Mega Blockbuster holds the Guinness Book World Record for hosting the largest online rummy tournament, with a whopping 2.15 lakh unique participants!
General rules for free weekend tournaments
- Players play against each other in a multi-round tournament based on the Deals rummy format.
- There is a fixed number of Deals in each round, and the player’s score at the end of the round will define the rank of the player.
- The top-ranking player from each round will qualify for the subsequent round. The top 2 players during the Semi-final round will qualify for the Final round.
- If a player doesn’t meet the qualification criteria, they will be eliminated from the tournament and be awarded the minimum guaranteed reward at the end of the tournament.
- There is no option to rejoin in case of elimination.
- Winners of the tournament will receive prize money based on their ranking on the leaderboard.
General rules for tournaments in PowerPlay format
PowerPlay is a different format of tournaments where rejoining is allowed and players are also allowed to drop and move to another table, offering them more opportunities to win.
- Players play against each other in a multi-level tournament.
- Instead of rounds, this format has ‘levels’.
- Every player will start with an equal number of points (known as ‘starting stack’).
- Players’ points balance (or stack) will change based on the outcome of each level. Winning increases your points, and losing reduces the points.
- Every level will have a specific time limit and corresponding points. Players can drop out from a table and move to a different table where a new deal will start. All players will be seated at the same table when only 6 players remain in the tournament.
- After each level, a player will qualify to the next level or be eliminated if the score goes below the minimum required points.
- Players will be ranked based on their total points. The tournament lasts till only one player remains.
You can learn the rules and other important terms and conditions related to individual tournaments on their respective page on the RummyCulture app. Choose the Tournaments option from the bottom navigation bar to see the list of all available tournaments.
